CURRENT REGISTRATIONS

We are not currently registering for any adult sports. Please check the Tennis & Pickleball section for year round clinics.  

Adult Summer Softball- REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED

VLPRA offers men's, women's, church, and coed softball. Games are played Tuesday Thursday evenings with an average of ten games and a single-elimination tournament.  We may also hold games on Mondays if the schedule warrants it.

The season will run from May to July.  Teams generally play two games a week.  We will hold a coaches meeting to discuss rules; date and time TBD.

Register as a team; no individual participation fees.  Each team is responsible for their own shirts and equipment.  VLPRA provides an official, practice location, game location, and schedule.  CLICK HERE TO REGISTER.

There is no individual registration available.  Free agents (people who want to play but do not have a team) can put their name on a list that will be given to the coaches.  We ask that teams who need extra players pull from the free agent list.

SIGN UP FOR RAINOUT ALERTS

We will only send alerts if it affects a large number of people. For instance, we will send alerts when games are cancelled or when practices for an entire league or an entire park are cancelled.  We will not send text alerts for individual team announcements or cancellations. If a coach cancels practice, it is up to him or her to alert his/her players.

We do not charge for text alerts and they are optional, but recommended. (Standard text messaging rates do apply, so please check with your carrier to make sure you will not receive charges from your cell phone provider).

VLPRA ADULT ATHLETICS- WHAT WE OFFER:

SPRING/SUMMER ADULT SOFTBALL

Men's, women's, church and coed softball. Games are played Monday through Thursday evenings, with 12 league games and a single-elimination tournament. Teams generally play two games a week. Each league will be separated into upper and lower divisions depending on the number of teams. Must be 17 years old to play. Practices and games at Freedom Park. Registration happens in April/May and the season runs late spring to summer.

17 & UP MEN'S BASKETBALL

It's open to men 17 and up. The league is designed for anyone who loves basketball- including church teams, neighborhood teams, and company teams. It's only $495 per team and that includes a shirt, games, postseason, and championship trophies. Maximum 12 people per team. Practices and games at the Mildred Hunter Community Center. For more information, contact the Mildred Hunter Community Center at 229-259-5407. Registration is typically open from January to March every year and the league plays late spring through summer.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL LEAGUE

It's open to women 16 and up. The league is designed for anyone who loves basketball- including church teams, neighborhood teams, and company teams. It's only $495 per team and that includes a shirt, games, postseason, and championship trophies. Maximum 12 people per team. Practices and games at the Mildred Hunter Community Center. 30 & OVER MEN'S BASKETBALL

Working dads, professionals, former athletes, guys who grew up playing rec league, and everything in between play in this league that offers exercise and healthy competition. It's only $495 per team and that includes a shirt, games, postseason, and championship trophies. Maximum 12 people per team. Practices and games at the Mildred Hunter Community Center. For more information, contact the Mildred Hunter Community Center at 229-259-5407. Registration is typically open from January to March every year and the league plays late spring through summer.

RAINOUT TEXT MESSAGE ALERTS

We now offer text alerts for game cancellations. They are the fastest way to find out if we are cancelling games or events based on bad weather or other emergencies. We will only send alerts if it affects a large number of people. For instance, we will send alerts when games are cancelled or when practices for an entire league or an entire park are cancelled.

We will not send text alerts for individual team announcements or cancellations. If a coach cancels practice, it is up to him or her to alert his/her players. We have alerts for all of our sports and they are (mostly) broken down by season. You will have to register for alerts at the beginning of each season. This keeps participants from getting unwanted texts.
